Originally from Tasmania, Australia, luthier John Bushby has had over 20 years experience in the music business both in Australia and in the UK working as a professional musician, repairing and making various musical instruments ranging from guitars, mandolins, bouzoukis, harps, fiddles and folk whistles. As a player himself he knows how an instrument should sound and feel to play.

He also plays Scottish Lowland pipes, Scottish smallpipes, Northumbrian smallpipes and Galician(Spanish) bagpipes.

In late 2005 he and his family moved to the UK to live.

He studied classical flute and singing at the Tasmanian Conservatorium of Music.

John worked for a number of years for one of the specialist music shops in Hobart, MacFie Music as their woodwind and string repairer as well as working privately.
